tilt  > Travel > Belize: Diving
We did 8 dives in Belize. Here's a sample of what we saw. Keep in mind that red light is filtered out by only 12 feet of water, so pictures that look gray or brown are probably more red in real light. I've tried to color-correct these photos, but it isn't easy to do. In any case, it was a great place to dive. The reef was in great shape, and the divemasters were a lot of fun and very knowledgeable. Big thanks to P.T. (Laura's brother) for letting us use his camera to get these shots!

tilt > Our first job was to find the place where the Snappers were gathering to spawn. They congregate for a few days around the full moon of March, April, and May. The Whale Shark follows, ready to feast on the resulting protein smorgasbord. This first dive was just a quick swim along the edge of the shelf. It was a quick pace, with nothing to see but blue. But our divemaster Dwayne *was* able to find the snapper :-) below us...

tilt > We did a surface interval back at the Gladden Spit reef, and got in some incredible snorkeling. Possibly the most gorgeous reef we saw on our whole trip.
